I really need to change a few things about how I live my life. One of them is blogging. I have often gone back to look at pictures and read about when Avah was first born, or even before she was in our world. So what will happen in two years when I look back and there is nothing! NOT GOOD! So I'M BACK! I need to make more time on these memory keeping things, such as blogging and YES, scrapbooking. I am feeling like the worst mother that I am 17 weeks from having our second child, and Avah still has no baby book! WTF is that about? I am so not happy with myself.
So where to begin...
I guess a good place to start, we are expecting our second child in late March! We are so excited that we are expecting a little boy, who we have decided on naming Derek. Avah is excited as much as a two and half year old can get excited about a new baby. She loves her little cousin Sophie (who was born in Sept.) so I know she will be a great big sister. It will be so much different going from three to four then two to three. But I think we will embrace it with open arms and love having our family of four!
Avah has changed so much in the last few months, I think I have noticed most of her changes since we got back from our trip to New York. She is completely potty trained (this is one of those things that I wish I had blogged more about...) she was a little hard at first, but I think it was typical. It seemed like she grasped it over night, and we haven't had any accidents. She asks to go even when we are in public, I guess she isn't completely - because we do put her in a pull up during the night. But that will come in time. The other big step we have taken with her is getting rid of her bobby (aka binker) We decided not to go cold turkey, so we only let her have it when she is going to bed. It's gone really well, she even will start to ask for it, and then stop in mid sentence and get this smile on her face. She knows better!
It feels like we have done so much in the last couple of months, so many things have been happening. On September 10, 2009 my sister had her baby girl. We have been waiting for this miracle forever. I was so lucky to be able to witness the birth of this amazing beautiful little girl, Sophie Emily Shepherd. She is just a doll and gets cuter by the second. Here is a picture of her taken last Friday by Jenny Weston. She is amazing.
We just love our little niece! She is getting so big and starting to be very animated. It is a good thing I am pregnant, because she sure does make me baby hungry. She is just the cutest, and I couldn't be more happier that my sister finally has her little girl!!
Hopefully this is a start of consistent blogging for me!! More to come!!
